DanceGuide helps you discover dance events in your local scene. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Account information (email, profile details), saved dance styles, notification preferences, and optional contact details you provide for organizations or performers you manage.

We use your information to operate the service, personalize discovery, send notifications you opt into, and improve DanceGuide. We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with service providers that help us run DanceGuide (hosting, email, SMS delivery) under contractual obligations to protect your data.

If you opt in via Settings → Notifications, we collect your mobile phone number to send optional text alerts: day-of reminders, weekly digests, event cancellation alerts, new event alerts for your saved styles, and organization shoutouts. SMS is never required to use DanceGuide.

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

To opt out, reply STOP to any message or turn off SMS in Settings → Notifications. After opt-out, we retain your number on our consent record for compliance auditing but do not send further texts to that number.

We do not verify phone ownership via carrier OTP today — you provide a number you control when opting in.

We retain account and consent data while your account is active and as needed for legal compliance. You may request deletion by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
